Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of concessions or food and beverage management experience
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor staff
  • Knowledge of inventory and ordering processes
  • Proficiency with computer applications, POS systems, and timekeeping software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage operations under pressure
  • Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with policies

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or greater in Culinary Management, Business Management, or related field
  • 3-5 years' experience in concessions management, food and beverage management, or related experience
  • Four or more years' experience may substitute degree requirement
  • Solid working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office, POS systems, and timekeeping
  • Experience training new employees and volunteers
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls
  • Experience ordering products for a high-volume venue or facility
  • Strong communication skills to foster a positive work environment
  • Ability to make sound business and operational decisions quickly and under pressure
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Thorough working knowledge of sanitation, food preparation, alcohol service policies, and safety standards
  • Ability to calculate basic math related to POS cash/credit and inventory
  • Commitment to integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
  • Nationally recognized food service sanitation training certification preferred
  • Nationally recognized alcohol service training certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage, develop and mentor a staff of part time and full time concessions employees including employee discipline and performance documentation
  • Ensure proper set-up of all concessions and bar locations prior to doors including verifying opening inventory and assigning duties
  • Provide oversight and operational expertise for smooth and profitable event execution
  • Oversee large volume inventory, order product and manage high volume sales
  • Manage all venue concessions operations including staff scheduling, equipment inspection, POS monitoring, guest complaint resolution, training, food production, clean-up, and post-event reporting
  • Train new and current employees on property procedures and best practices
  • Cover or back-up open positions to maintain operational standards and assist with premium services
  • Provide direction to concessions supervisors, stand managers, cooks, and cashiers ensuring compliance with alcohol service, food handling, sanitation, and safety policies
  • Complete post-event evaluations, track shortages, generate reports, and serve as a resource for POS applications and training
  • Coordinate purchase of food, beverage and related stock ensuring ample supplies
  • Ensure work environment safety and address hazards immediately
  • Provide on-going training and mentoring to event staff and volunteers fostering a positive workplace environment
  • Obtain working knowledge of all concession locations, equipment, evacuation procedures and facility access
