Job Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or greater in culinary management, business management, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in concessions management, food and beverage management, or related experience
  • Ability to work a flexible, event-driven schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Strong technical skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS and timekeeping systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and mentor staff and volunteers
  • Knowledge of applicable sanitation, food preparation and alcohol service regulations
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make sound operational decisions quickly
  • Commitment to maintain a safe and harassment-free workplace
  • Ability to manage inventory and ordering for high-volume venues
  • Experience in employee relations and documentation
  • Flexible availability and professional presentation
  • Must maintain excellent attendance
  • Ability to cover multiple job functions as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or greater in Culinary Management, Business Management, or related field
  • 3-5 years' experience in concessions management or related food and beverage management experience
  • Equivalent experience may substitute degree requirement
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, POS systems and timekeeping software
  • Experience training employees and volunteers
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls
  • Experience ordering product for high-volume venues
  • Excellent communication skills fostering a positive workplace
  • Ability to make quick business and operational decisions under pressure
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Thorough knowledge of sanitation, food preparation, alcohol service, and safety standards
  • Basic math skills for POS transactions and inventory management
  • Commitment to high standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality
  • Preferred certification in nationally recognized food service sanitation and alcohol service training courses.

Job Duties

  • Manage, develop and mentor part-time and full-time concessions staff including initiating employee discipline
  • Complete documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy
  • Ensure proper set-up of all concessions and bar locations prior to events including verifying opening inventory and sanitation standards
  • Provide oversight for smooth, efficient, and profitable event execution
  • Oversee inventory management, product ordering and high-volume sales
  • Manage and run venue concessions operations including staff scheduling, equipment inspection, POS monitoring, guest complaint resolution, training, food production, clean-up and post-event reporting
  • Train new and current employees on property procedures and best practices
  • Cover any open position as needed to ensure full operational capability
  • Provide direction and oversight to supervisors, stand managers and cashiers ensuring compliance with alcohol and food safety guidelines
  • Complete post-event evaluations, compile data, track shortages, and generate reports
  • Coordinate purchase of food, beverage and related stock
  • Ensure workplace safety and immediately address all safety concerns
  • Provide ongoing assistance, training and mentoring to event staff and volunteers promoting a cooperative workplace
  • Obtain working knowledge of concession locations, equipment, evacuation procedures and facility access.
