Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • skilled in Windows and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • able to work long hours
  • able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to multitask and prioritize
  • attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • attend all required meetings and trainings
  • participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
  • maintain regular attendance as per scheduling needs
  • maintain personal appearance standards including wearing nametag
  • comply with hotel standards and regulations
  • effective problem identification and resolution skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • college coursework in a related field helpful
  • experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • skilled in Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing

  • able to multitask and prioritize

Job Duties

  • Attend daily Highgate Hotel Business Review meeting
  • develop a full working knowledge of hotel operations including Food and Beverage, Guest Services and Reservations
  • develop and enforce knowledge of company sales policies and SOPs within the sales team
  • meet or exceed sales goals
  • operate the Sales Department within established budget
  • participate in M.O.D. and Saturday office coverage as scheduled
  • initiate and follow up on leads
  • maintain an active sales solicitation program
  • monitor top account production and evaluate market trends
  • regularly contact existing accounts based on tracing frequencies
  • meet or exceed assigned sales solicitation call goals
  • invite clients for entertainment, tours, and site inspections
  • assist in implementing special sales promotions
  • prepare required reports timely
  • maximize occupancy and ADR through effective selling techniques
  • conduct professional site inspections
  • manage business through computerized sales systems
  • meet and greet onsite contacts
  • adhere to Prime Selling Time
  • develop networking through community and professional associations
  • review meeting planner evaluations and ensure follow-up
  • entertain clients
  • handle inquiries during Inquiry Day Program
