Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality
  • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Strong leadership and team coaching skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with accounting software such as PeopleSoft and/or Blackline
  • Current technology skills and adaptability

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • Fundamental understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience coaching and training a team
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills including task prioritization and time management
  • Strong written, presentation, and informal communication skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to address issues promptly
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Prior experience with accounting software, preferably PeopleSoft and/or Blackline
  • Up-to-date technology expertise

Job Duties

  • Ensure cash flow is appropriate, initiate payments, reconcile balance sheets and statements
  • Train and mentor the accounting team, providing continual feedback
  • Responsible for monthly forecasting including interaction with department heads, including senior leaders
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to streamline processes while ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Serve as a contact with external auditors for annual financial statement audits
  • Handle the preparation of Tourism Tax returns
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed beyond outlined duties
