Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Strong leadership and team coaching skills
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with accounting software such as PeopleSoft and/or Blackline
- Current technology skills and adaptability
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality industry
- Fundamental understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Strong leadership abilities with experience coaching and training a team
- Excellent organizational and planning skills including task prioritization and time management
- Strong written, presentation, and informal communication skills
- Effective problem-solving skills and ability to address issues promptly
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
- Prior experience with accounting software, preferably PeopleSoft and/or Blackline
- Up-to-date technology expertise
Job Duties
- Ensure cash flow is appropriate, initiate payments, reconcile balance sheets and statements
- Train and mentor the accounting team, providing continual feedback
- Responsible for monthly forecasting including interaction with department heads, including senior leaders
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to streamline processes while ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Serve as a contact with external auditors for annual financial statement audits
- Handle the preparation of Tourism Tax returns
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed beyond outlined duties
