Job Requirements

  • Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License with satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying hours within any division of the Community Services Department
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in managing community programs and events
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to supervise seasonal, volunteer, and part-time staff
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and website maintenance
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Ability to perform park inspections and report maintenance needs

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in community services, recreation, or related field
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficiency in computer applications and website management
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid Class C California Driver's License

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize, schedule, coordinate, promote and evaluate programs and special events
  • Maintain payments for programs, monitor program budget, prepare financial reports
  • Respond to inquiries from community groups and citizens
  • Monitor inventory, purchase and maintain equipment and supplies
  • Maintain and update department website and calendars
  • Supervise seasonal, volunteer, and part-time staff including recruiting, training, and performance reviews
  • Coordinate rental of city parks and facilities and facilitate special event insurance process
  • Inspect park playgrounds and report necessary repairs
  • Oversee contract classes and camps
  • Create community services guide
  • Register and evaluate program participants
  • Produce fliers and press releases for events
  • Manage special events including summer concert series and community nights
