Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Up to eighteen months specialized education or training
  • One year related experience in inspection or customer service
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Compliance with City of Houston driving policy
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Willingness to walk on rough surfaces
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test and physical examination

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Up to eighteen months of specialized education or training in a specific area or trade
  • One year of experience related to customer service or inspection
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Working knowledge of asset management or work order system software is preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience with GIS software is preferred
  • Knowledge of infrastructure operation and maintenance is preferred

Job Duties

  • Perform inspections to identify problem areas and recommend solutions
  • Meet with general public, civic groups, contractors, technical professionals, and businesses to respond to inquiries and resolve problems
  • Maintain filing systems, reports, and documentation through record keeping activities
  • Research and evaluate plans, specifications, codes, and property information
  • Attend meetings with civic associations, businesses, and other groups
  • Prepare and submit technical reports
  • Arrange transportation to and from work sites
