Job Requirements

  • Some high school education or GED
  • one to three years of customer service experience
  • experience providing services to the homeless
  • CPR/First-Aid certification
  • ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • willingness to undergo drug testing as a safety-sensitive position

Job Duties

  • Walk the neighborhood around SOME and pick up small trash
  • properly dispose of all trash items in the SOME dumpster
  • notify the city of large items that need to be picked up
  • engage with neighborhood residents and answer questions about SOME, as needed
  • oversee and run shower operations within the allotted time
  • coordinate showers for Men and Transgender Men or Women and Transgender Women depending on assignments
  • dispense hygiene items to clients and collect them after use
  • wash and clean laundry items
  • maintain and upkeep the waiting area
  • maintain the cleanliness of ramps and outdoor areas
  • clean bathroom stalls
  • maintain statistics on shower usage
  • monitor personal items as clients shower
  • report any breakage
  • report unsafe or violent situations in a professional manner
  • assist with dining operations, as needed
  • notify Public Safety employees when assistance is needed
