Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years full time work experience in event planning, hospitality, public relations or related field
- May be required to work after normal business hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- May be required to work in various weather conditions
- May be required to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Must pass background and fingerprint check
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years full time work experience in event planning, hospitality, public relations or related field
- Associate degree in related field preferred
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Knowledge of basic digital photography and video
- Ability to formulate creative ideas
- Ability to work under deadline pressure
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
Job Duties
- Assist the Community Relations Manager with all aspects of community events and activities
- Assist with planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing and post-event follow-up for events and activities
- Assist with event logistics including décor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, security, equipment, volunteers, support personnel and vendors
- Ensure compliance with contracts, insurance, legal, health and safety obligations
- Assist with setup and tear down of events
- Conduct pre and post event evaluations and report on outcomes
- Research event venues and entertainment opportunities
- Act as the primary contact for inquiries from community members and the public
- Provide public relations, marketing and advertising for planned events
- Coordinate marketing efforts with the communications team
- Assist with advertising schedule, design and proofing of event marketing materials
- Develop new and creative ideas for community events calendar
- Produce design and layout of flyers, posters, banners, invitations and electronic formats
- Prepare financial reports, summaries, and post event evaluation data
- Maintain filing systems and vendor invoice records
- Gather information during events for report summaries
- Perform general office duties including answering inquiries, filing, copying, coordinating mailings, data entry
- Oversee PeopleSoft financial requisition process
- Coordinate meeting schedules and logistics
- Organize and file contracts and agreements
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
