Job Requirements

  • Background in custodial preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to follow OSHA safety standards
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including Saturdays and possibly Sundays
  • Ability to complete physically demanding tasks including bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching above shoulders

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Background in custodial work preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, MSDS sheets, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Strong communication skills with supervisors and tenants
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculations for cleaning solutions
  • Ability to apply common sense and problem-solving in routine situations
  • Proficiency in internet navigation and web-based timekeeping software

Job Duties

  • General property maintenance and property area cleaning
  • Routinely perform housekeeping tasks including sweep, mop, wax, vacuum floors, empty wastebaskets, dust and wipe surfaces, clean and disinfect bathrooms, showers, bathtubs, clean kitchen and pantry including shelves and drawers, clean appliances, sweep and clean fireplace hearths, windows, mini-blinds, mirrors, balconies, patios, and entrances
  • Clean all common areas as scheduled by supervisor including parking garage, offices, clubrooms, community rooms, model units, mailbox areas, stairwells, storage areas, elevators
  • Perform daily touch up cleaning of tour path and show apartment homes
  • Assist with light apartment maintenance and in-home service requests
  • Maintain and inventory cleaning products, supplies, and equipment
  • Inform supervisor of supply needs and reorder timely
  • Operate within OSHA standards and safety policies and report concerns
  • Perform snow removal and de-icing as needed
  • Work flex hours including weekends
  • Complete apartment unit cleaning for turns
  • Report unusual circumstances regarding property or residents
  • Assist keeping grounds neat, including weed removal, spraying, snow removal, sanding, salting, filter cleaning, and exterior cleaning
  • Assist with preventative maintenance
  • Provide high level of customer service to residents and team
  • Use work order systems for assignments and task completion
  • Perform other duties as assigned
