Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Traffic Engineering, Planning, Management, Public Safety, Statistics, or a related field
  • Two to three years of relevant work experience
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Ability to analyze traffic data and generate reports
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in social media content creation and community outreach
  • Experience with grant application and management

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Traffic Engineering, Planning, Management, Public Safety, Statistics, or a closely related field with two to three years of relevant work experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Strong problem-solving and technical expertise
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting literature, reports, scientific journals, financial documents, and legal texts
  • Skilled in developing spreadsheets, pamphlets, journals, speeches, manuals, and critiques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and coordinate tasks
  • Team-oriented problem-solving skills
  • Ability to evaluate traffic data and provide safety recommendations

Job Duties

  • Track, document, and analyze measurable traffic activity in town
  • Identify, apply for, and secure grant funding to support traffic safety initiatives and community outreach programs
  • Create impactful traffic safety content across social media platforms
  • Maintain, deploy, and monitor speed trailers and traffic counters for research and traffic management
  • Foster relationships with residents, businesses, and other entities to collaboratively address local traffic concerns
  • Conduct child safety seat installations and educate families on best practices if certified
  • Develop and promote programs that keep the community informed on traffic safety and accident reduction efforts
