Job Requirements

  • Relevant experience in volunteer coordination or related field
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer applications
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
  • Commitment to working in diverse and multicultural settings

  • Experience in volunteer recruitment and management
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask
  • Strong time management and independent work skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of office and client information
  • Intermediate computer and Microsoft skills

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment

Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain relationships with volunteer sources such as higher education institutions, businesses, service groups, schools, and churches
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of volunteer needs and report progress
  • Recruit volunteers through presentations, tours, recruitment events, and ongoing contact with volunteer sources
  • Ensure volunteerism remains highly visible within the county
  • Collaborate with Advancement Manager to identify volunteers for resource development and program support
  • Work with Program Managers to create workflows supporting volunteer recruitment to placement
  • Coordinate intern recruitment with program staff
  • Develop and coordinate volunteer training programs
  • Organize and direct fundraising and special volunteer projects
  • Ensure meaningful volunteer recognition appropriate to roles
