Job Requirements

  • Ability to function highly independently using sound judgment
  • Ability to maintain a variety of records and reports
  • Ability to accurately record and manage volunteer data
  • Ability to respond to requests and inquiries from the general public
  • Ability to operate office equipment including computers, word processing, and graphic applications
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment in daily activities and in stressful or complicated conditions

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of event planning and management best practices and techniques
  • Knowledge of budgeting and finance tracking
  • Knowledge of volunteer recruitment and retention best practices and principles
  • Knowledge of social media marketing/advertising strategies and best practices
  • Knowledge of customer services best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred

Job Duties

  • Research and book performers within a defined budget
  • Prepare and send contracts to performers/vendors, ensure processing of payment
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with all performers, serve as main contact person with performers
  • Lead events as scheduled, including setup and teardown
  • Attend markets as scheduled, including assisting with setup and teardown, and answering guests’ questions throughout the market
  • Assist with preparing and mailing advertising and promotional materials, printing, and entering market metrics and work involved in implementing the Farmers Market Anti-Racist Toolkit
  • Assist coordinator with selecting films for the series
  • Assist with set up and tear down for Crystal Awards
  • Provide support as needed during Crystal Awards
  • Support design of promotional material as needed
  • Add events to online community calendars
  • Write press releases for events as needed
  • Prepare and send community mailings
  • Help with other city communications projects as needed
  • Assist with Winter Fest (December) and the Children’s Concert Series (February)
  • Maintain or develop volunteer program forms and documentation, including volunteer job descriptions, volunteer time log form, volunteer work plan form, volunteer sign in sheet, volunteer release and waiver of liability
  • Perform other/related duties and responsibilities as assigned and required
