Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one to three years similar or related experience
  • knowledge of GECU and HOAP policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software
  • good oral and written communication skills
  • must be able to work numerous interruptions
  • ability and flexibility to multi-task and prioritize
  • assertive and resourceful self-starter
  • good judgment skills
  • high degree of integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy
  • ability to work independently and in a team
  • able to sit for most of the day and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds, bend, squat, climb, twist, kneel, reach above and below shoulder level

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one to three years of similar or related experience
  • proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software
  • good oral and written communication skills
  • preferably fluent in English and Spanish
  • good judgment skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • assertive, resourceful self-starter with analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize tasks concurrently while meeting deadlines
  • member focused with exceptional follow-up and attention to detail
  • knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements of GECU preferred

Job Duties

  • Provides administrative support to the community development department
  • coordinates overall office administrative activities
  • assures availability of material and equipment needed for workshops
  • keeps track of class participants and prepares certificates
  • prepares documents for workshop instructors
  • assists the department by reporting security and maintenance issues when manager is not available
  • assists with VITA site coordinators to ensure successful delivery of free tax preparation
  • answers phone calls and provides information on services
  • registers, tracks and follows up with interested parties for workshops and VITA training
  • collects information on phone calls requesting counseling assistance and refers appropriately and/or sets appointment for counseling
  • assists counselors as needed regarding various functions
  • maintains calendars and schedules follow up appointments with clients
  • sets up rooms for training
  • serves as a VITA greeter during tax season
  • receives and distributes all correspondence
  • orders supplies as needed
  • prepares electronic and USP mail outs
  • picks up and drops off mail/makes deposits
  • other duties as may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union
  • maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU's established policies, procedures and applicable regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC)
