Job Description

The Plymouth Community Center is a vital hub for local gatherings, events, and recreational activities in Plymouth. Serving families, seniors, and individuals of all ages, the center provides a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that supports community wellness and engagement. Job Requirements

  • Physical stamina to perform labor such as moving tables, chairs, and full trash bags
  • ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
  • ability to manage time effectively during scheduled shifts
  • willingness to work varied shift lengths and start times
  • basic maintenance skills such as changing light bulbs and performing light repairs
  • good communication skills to interact with staff and the public

Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to work independently and efficiently
  • must be capable of working effectively during busy times
  • must have interpersonal skills to interact with the public in a professional manner
  • previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but training is provided

Job Duties

  • Perform janitorial duties to maintain cleanliness throughout the community center and its grounds
  • complete facility set-ups and teardowns for room arrangements under the direction of the Facility Coordinator or Building Supervisors
  • conduct tasks such as changing light bulbs, washing windows, cleaning restrooms, restocking inventory, mopping floors, dusting, and performing light repairs
  • operate maintenance equipment including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and sweepers
  • assist in preparing for and cleaning up from birthday parties, playground activities, weddings, meetings, classes, and programs for children and seniors
