Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • valid driver’s license
  • completion of background check
  • completion of Safe From Harm training within first 90 days
  • CPR and first aid certification
  • ability to speak, write and understand English sufficiently
  • computer proficiency
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • experience working with the public preferred
  • ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • good manual dexterity
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • occasional travel for training and community events
  • willingness to uphold The Salvation Army’s religious mission

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • associate degree preferred
  • experience in office and administration preferred
  • experience working with the public
  • strong people skills
  • valid driver’s license meeting The Salvation Army driver qualification standards
  • completion of Safe From Harm training within 90 days of employment
  • CPR and first aid certifications
  • proficiency in English for effective communication
  • computer proficiency with Microsoft products
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • ability to write reports and present information effectively

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily oversight of activities for Community Center
  • work collaboratively with program directors and community collaborators
  • communicate the needs and success of the Community Center to external stakeholders
  • assist with training, supervising, and evaluating community center staff and volunteers
  • evaluate Community Center programs and reassess community needs
  • develop and implement promotional plans for programs
  • coordinate the Community Center schedule and facility usage
  • assist with facility rentals and payments
  • ensure compliance with policies and risk management procedures
  • maintain program documentation and databases
  • keep computer-based calendars updated
  • maintain communication with divisional headquarters
  • model ethical decision-making and respectful communication
  • demonstrate commitment to community well-being and personal development
  • support and exemplify the mission of The Salvation Army
  • ensure a welcoming environment for all ages and ethnicities
  • maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • assist with Christmas efforts
  • perform other assigned tasks
