Job Requirements

  • Must always present as courteous and professional
  • demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • proficient with basic computer skills and software programs including ability to learn and train HPAO's electronic medical records
  • ability to work with others cooperatively and collaboratively
  • understanding of substance use and mental health issues and/or self-help programs
  • understanding of boundaries and ethics
  • comply with federal regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, substance abuse confidentiality regulations and HIPAA regulations
  • certification in HPAO approved de-escalation program
  • expertise in recovery coaching
  • capacity to provide performance support for recovery coaches
  • familiarity with recovery community, services and resources
  • capability of building effective coach-recoveree relationships
  • cross-cultural skills and experience with culturally diverse populations
  • participation in annual TB screening
  • CPR certification

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field is preferred or two (2) years' experience in human services may be substituted
  • recovery coach and recovery coach supervisor trained preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • proficient with basic computer skills and electronic medical records
  • knowledge of recovery community, services, and resources
  • understanding of substance use and mental health relationship
  • certification in HPAO approved de-escalation program
  • cultural competency and cross-cultural experience
  • CPR certification
  • ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively

Job Duties

  • Compliance and working knowledge of applicable HPAO policies and procedures
  • work closely with internal programs, community partners, and stakeholders to market Recovery Coach trainings
  • represent the organization at conferences, community events, and professional forums
  • coordinate with internal trainers, CCAR consultants, and certification bodies
  • monitor training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics
  • ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards
  • maintain accurate records of training activities, work with accounts receivable to ensure invoices are being paid, and staff certifications
  • responsible for the scheduling of all training courses, ordering of workbooks
  • interact with local and community service networks in a manner that enhances the public relations of the facility, and increases community services
  • coordinate with other departments/facilities to enhance and ensure quality care
  • attends all programmatic, organizational and committee meetings as assigned
  • collaborate and participate in meetings with other community organizations to enhance communication and service delivery within the community
  • promote awareness of peer support values and principles across the organization
  • provide education to non-peer staff about the role and impact of peer support
  • advocate for the integration of peer support into broader service delivery systems
  • provide group/individual supervision to program staff and maintain supervisory notes and staff evaluations
  • facilitate Recovery Coach Academy and Ethical Consideration training for recovery coaches
  • provide direct client services as determined by Program Director
  • maintain required billable hours and productivity based on caseload size
  • must become Recovery Coach Supervisor trained and a Recovery Coach Professional Facilitator (RCP-F) within 9 months of employment
  • meet with Program Director regularly
  • all other duties as assigned by Program Director
