Job Requirements

  • Associates Degree in business, customer relations, computer applications, or related field
  • Minimum three years of demonstrated front-line customer service and/or working with the general public, social media, and/or administrative support or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to pass and maintain Criminal History Records check and Security Threat Assessment required for PDX Security Badge with Driver designation and CJIS certification
  • Excellent verbal, written, and social media skills
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office, social media, multi-line phone systems, and 800 MHz radio
  • Ability to work varying shifts including holidays, weekends, and short notice
  • Ability to de-escalate difficult situations
  • Commitment to safety policies
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team and demonstrate inclusivity
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in business, customer relations, computer applications, or related field
  • Minimum three years of front-line customer service experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience with facilities management, maintenance, or construction preferred
  • Familiarity with Incident Command System (ICS), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), and union environments preferred
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to pass Criminal History Records check and Security Threat Assessment for PDX Security Badge with Driver designation and CJIS certification
  • Excellent verbal, written, and social media skills
  • Superior spelling, grammar, and proofreading abilities
  • Exceptional customer service, empathy, persuasion, positive language, and de-escalation techniques
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office, social media, multi-line phones, and 800 MHz radio dispatch
  • Ability to quickly learn administrative procedures and interpret policies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with diverse groups
  • Commitment to safety and inclusivity

Job Duties

  • Provide passenger communication and customer service through multiple technological tools and social media
  • Take and respond to high-volume customer calls
  • De-escalate situations involving dissatisfied customers and offer patient support
  • Manage routine and emergency maintenance service requests via phone, radio, email, and automated communication
  • Support budget allocations and labor timecard management by prioritizing and processing work requests
  • Conduct administrative assignments in support of Customer Relations and Maintenance Planning
  • Serve as operational liaison during airport emergencies as an essential employee
