Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in EMS and/or air medical communications preferred
- Preferred experience in public relations, customer service, marketing, sales, healthcare billing or insurance
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to learn new software
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and logically
- Pass pre-placement drug and background screening
- Compliance with safety sensitive designation for Arizona Medical Marijuana Act
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred experience in EMS or air medical communications
- Experience in public relations, customer service, marketing, sales, healthcare billing, or insurance preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to learn custom and specialized software
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to function calmly in high-pressure situations and make logical problem-solving decisions
- Ability to pass pre-placement drug and background screening
- Compliance with safety-sensitive position requirements under the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act
Job Duties
- Assimilate various forms of information to make quality decisions and perform specialized communication functions including transport requests and triage
- Maintain effective communication with medical and aviation crew and aircraft using a multi-channeled voting radio system
- Perform constant flight following procedures according to FAA and company policies
- Document detailed medical information and transport activity accurately for legal records
- Coordinate national and international medical transports with relevant departments and agencies
- Input flight and ground transport data into a network database complying with FAA Part 135 and company policies
- Maintain positive relationships with referring and receiving facilities and pre-hospital agencies to ensure safe and coordinated emergency responses
- Notify administration and appropriate agencies of incidents, accidents, or emergencies according to policies
- Attend staff meetings and continuing education sessions
- Receive and process incoming quote requests for long-distance air medical transports and educate callers on services
- Initiate front-end billing and assist with account follow-up
- Provide outbound follow-up calls on quote status and manage transplant patient files
- Perform other duties as required
