Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to obtain a valid Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's permit issued by the Federal Communications Commission after appointment
- ability to work full-time night shift hours from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- compliance with criminal background check requirements
- ability to perform receptionist and office administrative duties
- flexibility to work scheduled days off as per shift rotation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in code calling, dispatch, or communications preferred
- bilingual or multilingual fluency preferred
- proficiency with telecommunications and radio communication systems
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work night shifts and on a rotating schedule
- ability to manage multiple tasks and respond quickly in emergency situations
Job Duties
- Operates a Cisco console for telecommunications system
- operates emergency paging and/or beeper system
- contacts and dispatches emergency personnel to incidences as needed according to emergency procedure protocol
- transmits messages from a radio communications base station in accordance with FCC regulations
- monitors radio frequencies to receive, evaluate and forward information
- operates radio transmitting and receiving equipment comprising fixed and mobile units
- greets and directs visitors to individuals and/or programs, answers questions, and provides information and/or literature pertaining to agency rules and regulations
