Job Requirements
- Meet time-in-grade requirements for respective GS levels
- Provide proof of specialized experience or education
- Have specialized experience in retail food merchandising and management
- Demonstrate knowledge of procurement, distribution, and store operations
- Provide transcripts if qualifying through education
- Meet federal competitive appointment requirements
- Possess strong interpersonal skills
- Be prepared for occasional overtime
- Submit foreign education equivalency evaluation if applicable
- Must comply with employment eligibility and documentation requirements
Job Qualifications
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level for GS-11
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level for GS-12
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level for GS-13
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level for GS-14
- Specialized experience in retail food management
- Ability to manage multiple departments
- Experience applying retail food merchandising principles
- Knowledge of procurement and distribution methods
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Job Duties
- Manage all activities and functions of the commissary including grocery, meat, produce, and deli-bakery departments
- Exercise full managerial and supervisory responsibilities for store employees
- Develop, interpret, and apply operational policies and procedures
- Plan, standardize, and control retail food store operations
- Provide technical advice on merchandising and operational matters
- Oversee procurement and distribution methods
- Ensure compliance with retail food merchandising standards and practices
