Job Requirements
- Resumes and transcripts must clearly demonstrate qualifications
- Specialized experience in retail food store management
- Time-in-grade requirement of 52 weeks at the appropriate GS level
- Time after competitive appointment of at least 90 days for federal civilian employees
- Ability to respond to competency questions on interpersonal skills and retail store management
- Compliance with federal service regulations
- Education related to food retail management may be required
- Unofficial transcripts acceptable during application but official transcripts required before job offer
- Foreign education must be evaluated for equivalency
- Must be available for occasional overtime
- Bargaining unit status not covered
- FLSA exempt
Job Qualifications
- One year of specialized experience at the GS-9 grade level or equivalent for GS-11
- One year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level for GS-12
- One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level for GS-13
- One year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level for GS-14
- Knowledge of retail food merchandising and management
- Ability to develop and apply operational policies
- Strong interpersonal and management skills
- Education in business administration, public administration, agricultural economics, or related field preferred
Job Duties
- Managing all activities and functions of the commissary including grocery, meat, produce, and deli-bakery departments
- Exercising full managerial and supervisory responsibilities for store employees
- Overseeing retail procurement and distribution methods
- Planning, standardizing, and controlling operations in the commissary
- Developing, interpreting, and applying policies, procedures, and operating standards
- Providing technical advice on merchandising and operational matters
- Ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
