Job Requirements

  • proven experience in maintenance or engineering role
  • ability to perform physical maintenance tasks
  • strong leadership and team supervision skills
  • excellent problem-solving skills
  • ability to make quick and sound decisions
  • good communication skills
  • available for on-call emergencies
  • knowledge of safety regulations and compliance
  • valid driver’s license

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in maintenance management or related field
  • knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair
  • leadership and team management skills
  • ability to perform hands-on maintenance tasks
  • good decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • effective communication and organizational skills
  • experience managing contractors and vendor relationships

Job Duties

  • Responsible for staffing maintenance department including hiring and terminations
  • overseeing direct reports' performance and development through feedback, meetings, goal setting, coaching, training, and reviews
  • holding team members accountable for following all hotel policies, checklists, and SOPs
  • perform hands-on maintenance to guest rooms and hotel equipment including painting, wall vinyl repair, basic plumbing
  • delegate tasks to subordinates
  • maintain and repair buildings' plumbing and electrical systems including replacing defective parts such as switches and fuses
  • identify when tasks exceed staff skill level and seek outside contractor help
  • obtain multiple bids from contractors and manage contractors on site through completion
  • make quick decisions on expensive repairs to mitigate guest impact
  • manage and delegate work to employees to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • meet all deadlines regarding brand and company standards
  • provide a safe working environment
