Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required
- Males must be registered for Selective Service
- Position subject to DoD Priority Placement Program
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
- Experience in desktop publishing methods is highly encouraged
- Employee subject to call 24/7 in support of operations
- May be required to perform Temporary Duty (TDY)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts
- May serve as acting supervisor in absence of supervisor
- One year specialized experience at GS-11 or equivalent is required
- Must meet time-in-grade requirements for GS-12
- Commitment to improving federal government efficiency and upholding the Rule of Law
Job Qualifications
- Recent experience as a KC-135R/T pilot
- Knowledge of USSTRATCOM aircrew command and control procedures
- KC-135 Weapons Instructor Course (WIC) graduate is desired
- Knowledge of Air Mobility Command, Air Combat Command, and USSTRATCOM operations
- Ability to produce written plans, policies, procedures and guidelines
- Skill in analytical and evaluative techniques
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with leadership during exercises
- Pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing per Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program
Job Duties
- Lead lecturer/instructor on all aspects of wartime and contingency missions tasked by USSTRATCOM, USTRANSCOM, and regional combatant commander OPLANs
- Strategic Combat Mission Director/Planner: directs, leads, oversees and provides guidance for wing combat planning and preparation activities immediately prior to and during times of general war
- Conventional Contingency/Operational Director/Planner: directs, leads, oversees and provides guidance for wing combat planning and preparation activities immediately prior to and during times of conventional war or contingencies
- Action Officer (AO): leads/participates in discussion, meeting, or serves on panels or committees
