Job Requirements

  • Partial high school education
  • Ability to prepare and cook food items
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to clean and inspect kitchen equipment
  • Ability to operate food stations and maintain records
  • Ability to requisition food supplies
  • Ability to monitor menus and spending
  • Ability to maintain awareness of safety issues and report them
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for entire work day
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Culinary knowledge
  • Food safety certified
  • Strong sanitation habits
  • Strong customer service abilities
  • Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, daily menus, and supervisor instructions
  • Clean and inspect kitchen equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation
  • Operate food station, including performing station checklist, temperature log, counter meeting, and signage
  • Requisition food supplies, kitchen equipment, and appliances based on estimates of future needs
  • Monitor menus and spending to ensure meals are prepared economically
  • Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to management
