Job Requirements
- Partial high school education
- Ability to prepare and cook food items
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Ability to clean and inspect kitchen equipment
- Ability to operate food stations and maintain records
- Ability to requisition food supplies
- Ability to monitor menus and spending
- Ability to maintain awareness of safety issues and report them
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for entire work day
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
Job Qualifications
- Partial high school education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Culinary knowledge
- Food safety certified
- Strong sanitation habits
- Strong customer service abilities
- Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, daily menus, and supervisor instructions
- Clean and inspect kitchen equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation
- Operate food station, including performing station checklist, temperature log, counter meeting, and signage
- Requisition food supplies, kitchen equipment, and appliances based on estimates of future needs
- Monitor menus and spending to ensure meals are prepared economically
- Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to management
