Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a culinary or food service role
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation standards
  • Capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Manual dexterity and ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Flexible availability to work Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 2 pm

  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines

  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in food preparation areas
  • Good communication skills for effective teamwork
  • Basic knowledge of food storage and inventory procedures

Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary practices
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating kitchen equipment
  • Check freshness of food and ingredients and rotate stock following labeling and dating procedures
  • Monitor, cook, and prepare foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently using tasting, smelling, or food thermometers
  • Prep stations according to company guidelines
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
  • Season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients following recipes with supervisor guidance
  • Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables
  • Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for service
  • Bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries as needed
  • Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
  • Maintain records of food usage and assist with inventory
  • Follow food specification amounts and assist in forecasting preparation needs
  • Prepare and serve food to customers timely
  • Support culinary staff at multiple stations when directed
  • Communicate kitchen equipment and supply needs to supervisor
  • Adhere to safety, sanitation, uniform, and productivity standards
  • Provide attentive and courteous customer service
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed
