Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1-3 years experience as a chef or sous chef
  • minimum 7 years experience as a cook
  • ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • willingness to work long shifts and rotating schedule
  • ability to train and manage employees
  • compliance with company training and safety standards
  • legal authorization to work in the USA

Job Qualifications

  • associate degree in culinary arts or culinary arts certification preferred
  • minimum 1-3 years experience as a chef or sous chef required
  • minimum 7 years experience as a cook required
  • previous supervisory experience in high volume food production preferred
  • experience in in-flight catering or high-volume food service preferred
  • ability to cook meals according to detailed specifications
  • strong leadership skills and team management experience
  • ability to train others
  • experience with menu design is a plus
  • basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Job Duties

  • ensure food specifications and labor objectives meet company and customer requirements
  • supervise department for quality and quantity and adhere to food safety regulations
  • keep account of attendance, set up paperwork, assign employees to shifts
  • order raw materials and produce extra meals as needed
  • prepare daily production sheet and assign tasks to employees
  • train and monitor employees on proper work procedures and food safety
  • manage daily production of hot and cold kitchens for quality and consistency
  • ensure compliance with wage and hour policies including rest and meal breaks
  • coach, counsel, and prepare corrective actions for employees
  • monitor manpower planning and schedule employees
  • review employee pay rates and job titles for accuracy
  • complete all required training including ServSafe
  • comply with all company policies and procedures
