Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a commercial kitchen or catering setting preferred
  • ability to work early morning shifts
  • strong physical stamina to stand and perform tasks for extended periods
  • adherence to strict food safety and sanitation standards
  • basic math skills for measurement conversions
  • ability to follow detailed recipes and procedures
  • excellent communication skills
  • willingness to comply with company safety policies
  • flexibility for shift changes and weekend work

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent attendance, performance, and safety record
  • skilled in the proper use of cutlery, kitchen equipment, and machinery
  • detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities
  • extensive knowledge of safe food handling practices and workstation sanitization
  • ability to use knives, cutting boards, mobile shelving, carts, meat slicers, ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
  • capable of speaking, reading, and writing English comprehensively
  • ability to convert measurements using conversion charts
  • flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • willingness to wear protective equipment as required

Job Duties

  • Cook according to airline customized menu and established procedures/recipes
  • sauté, poach, bake, grill, and prepare sauces
  • operate broilers, fryers, grills, ovens, and stovetop cooking equipment
  • ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures
  • check freshness of food and ingredients using quality checks, FIFO stock rotation, and interpreting specifications
  • implement GMP procedures to maintain proper temperature controls
  • inspect and clean food preparation and serving areas ensuring adherence to food safety standards
  • follow FDA, USDA, HACCP guidelines and customer safety practices
  • wear protective equipment as required
  • adapt to additional responsibilities as needed
