Job Requirements
- 1-2 years of kitchen experience required
- Ability to work part-time with a varying schedule including every other weekend
- Must be able to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Must have reliable transportation to the UAB St. Vincents East location
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-2 years of kitchen experience required
- Knowledge of food safety standards such as HACCP and ServSafe
- Ability to operate slicing machines and other kitchen equipment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Flexibility to work varying hours and every other weekend
Job Duties
- Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from Chef
- Prepare sandwich meats, cheeses, condiments and salads using approved production standards
- Stock and replenish deli/cold products and condiments following approved merchandising guidelines
- Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from workstation, stove and refrigerator
- Store food in designated areas following HACCP standard wrapping, dating and rotation procedures
- Clean, sanitize and maintain counters, work surfaces, refrigeration units and floors in the preparation and serving areas
- Cut slices of meat, cheese or vegetables to designated thickness using slicing machine
- Interact with coworkers to ensure compliance with company service standards, inventory and cash control procedures
- Maintain clean, safe work environment to comply with sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
