Job Requirements

  • Prior prep experience is preferred
  • Customer service experience is required
  • Ability to work full time with rotating weekends
  • Ability to follow food safety standards
  • Ability to operate slicing equipment
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior food preparation experience preferred
  • Customer service experience required
  • Ability to use slicing machines and knives safely
  • Knowledge of food safety standards including ServSafe and HACCP
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Cut delicatessen meats, vegetables and cheeses with slicing machine or knives
  • Prepare and serve sandwiches, salads and other cold food items
  • Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from Chef
  • Prepare sandwich meats, cheeses, condiments and salads using approved production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and portion control
  • Stock and replenish deli/cold products and condiments following merchandising guidelines
  • Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from workstation, stove and refrigerator
  • Store food in designated areas following HACCP standard wrapping, dating and rotation procedures
  • Clean, sanitize and maintain counters, work surfaces, refrigeration units and floors
  • Adjust slicing machine settings to achieve desired thickness
  • Interact with coworkers to ensure compliance with company service standards, inventory and cash control procedures
  • Maintain clean, safe work environment to comply with sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
