Job Requirements

- high school diploma or equivalent
- over one year of related work experience

Job Duties
- Maintains a positive attitude

- sets department standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance and overall profitability
- smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
- learns customers’ names and addresses them by name whenever possible
- assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products out of reach, loading/unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions
- answers telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service including taking product orders
- recruits, hires, trains, supervises, disciplines, and evaluates department employees
- determines department goals with store director
- schedules weekly work and daily work plans
- inspects signage and displays
- handles and satisfies customer issues
- communicates with employees about sales and ideas
- figures retail pricing and ensures correct pricing
- manages invoices and oversees department bookkeeping
- analyzes sales and trends, prepares ad projections, and writes ads
- conducts inventory
- plans displays and promotions
- ensures proper storage and temperature controls
- troubleshoots and ensures maintenance of equipment
- maintains store appearance and equipment consistency
