Job Requirements
- less than high school education or equivalent experience
- six months or less of similar or related work experience
- ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
- ability to perform simple addition and subtraction
- possess the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
- be physically capable of performing medium work involving exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly
- have visual acuity including clarity of vision at distances between 20 inches and 20 feet, color vision, depth perception and field of vision
- able to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- must adhere to company policies and personal hygiene and dress standards
- agree to a pre-employment drug screen

Job Duties
- provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
- smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store
- makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible
- assists customers by escorting them to products they're looking for, securing products out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, making note of customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience
- answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service including taking customer orders
- takes customer orders at the counter
- works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- handles food safely and ensures work area is always clean and neat
- reviews food for freshness
- ensures an adequate food supply is ready and on hand and follows production lists
- anticipates product needs daily
- prepares and replenishes product as necessary
- checks in product, puts it away, and may review invoices
- runs department registers and handles payment where applicable
- removes trash promptly
- maintains strict adherence to hygiene and dress guidelines
- adheres to company policies and store guidelines
- reports to work as scheduled and on time
