Job Requirements

  • Must be able to physically perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Must have clarity of vision at different distances with or without correction
  • Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions
  • Less than high school education or equivalent experience
  • Six months or less of related work experience
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner whether the encounter takes place in the designated department or elsewhere in the store
  • Makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible
  • Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, making note of customer suggestions or requests, performing tasks to enhance the shopping experience
  • Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service including taking customer orders
  • Takes customer orders at the counter
  • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
  • Handles food in a safe manner and ensures the work area is clean and neat
  • Reviews food status and appearance for freshness
  • Ensures an adequate food supply is ready and on hand
  • Follows a production list and anticipates product needs daily
  • Prepares and replenishes products as necessary
  • Checks in and puts away products including reviewing invoices
  • Runs department registers and receives payment where applicable
  • Removes trash promptly
  • Maintains strict adherence to hygiene and dress guidelines
  • Adheres to company policies and store guidelines
  • Reports to work on time and when scheduled
