Job Requirements

  • Strong personal commitment to the Catholic faith and understanding of Catholic culture and values
  • 2+ years of experience in food service or café management preferred
  • Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead with hospitality and a service mindset
  • Basic understanding of budgeting inventory management and scheduling
  • Flexible schedule including some evenings or weekends for events

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily operations including opening and closing procedures inventory management and vendor relations
  • Ensure high-quality customer service and maintain a clean inviting atmosphere
  • Develop and implement efficient workflows for baristas bakers and all support staff
  • Manage the point-of-sale system and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Solicit for volunteers train and schedule baristas and staff with attention to hospitality and mission alignment
  • Lead occasional volunteer staff meetings and foster a culture of service hospitality gratitude and teamwork
  • Provide ongoing support and encouragement for team members
  • Ensure that the Upper Room reflects Catholic values in both atmosphere and programming
  • Collaborate with parish staff or ministry leaders to host events such as Bible studies Theology on Tap or community outreach
