Job Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the fall
  • Must be available to work full-time approximately 40 hours per week during a 10-12 week period starting May or June
  • Current enrollment in an industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related degree-seeking program at the master's or bachelor's level with relevant experience
  • Coursework or experience in digital systems, automation, API integration, or data analytics
  • Understanding of modern manufacturing and enterprise systems such as SAP S/4HANA, MES, or IoT platforms beneficial
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25 percent
  • Must comply with vaccination requirements as applicable
  • Must work onsite full time

Job Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in an industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related degree-seeking program at the master's level
  • Coursework or experience in digital systems, automation, API integration, or data analytics
  • Understanding of modern manufacturing and enterprise systems such as SAP S/4HANA, MES, or IoT platforms beneficial
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and formal presentation
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25 percent

Job Duties

  • Support MAKE CoE initiatives aimed at automating manufacturing processes to improve visibility, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and define digital workflows that integrate with SAP S/4 HANA or middleware systems
  • Participate in the design, testing, and validation of data-driven applications or dashboards to enhance real-time decision-making
  • Assist in developing technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for pilot implementations
  • Analyze process data and prepare performance metrics that measure improvement in time, accuracy, or productivity
  • Contribute to proof-of-concept (POC) efforts using emerging technologies such as IoT or automation platforms to address operational challenges
  • Support cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality, and IT to ensure successful deployment and adoption
  • Present project progress, outcomes, and improvement opportunities to stakeholders and leadership teams
