Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a restaurant server role preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Fluent in English language skills
- Certification completion in Florida Responsible Vendor program
- Food safety certification
- Strong communication skills
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
- Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
- Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
- Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
- Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
Job Duties
- Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
- Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
- Be knowledgeable regarding food and beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
- Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
- Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
- Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a manager
- Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
- Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
- Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests
