Job Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age due to A.B.C. § 4.1-307
  • 1 - 2 years server experience in a full service restaurant
  • Excellent public contact skills to include tact, courtesy and patience
  • Ability to meet the standards listed
  • Ability to satisfy customers under all circumstances
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to read and write, perform basic mathematical computations and memorize the food and beverages offered
  • Ability to learn and communicate relevant dining information to guests
  • Physical requirements include bending, lifting, stooping
  • carrying trays weighing up to 50 pounds
  • extensive use of stairs
  • Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a current Williamsburg James City County food handler’s card and TIPS certification
  • Applicants with an active card and certification should be prepared to present both during the interview process

Job Qualifications

  • 1 - 2 years server experience in a full service restaurant

Job Duties

  • Greet guests hospitably and serve them efficiently providing proper food and beverage service
  • Learn and describe menu items to guests including chef specials
  • Suggest wine and other beverages
  • Responsible for standard table set-up procedures and cleanliness of the dining room
  • Other duties as required
