Job Requirements

Ability to work late hours
Part-time availability averaging 3 shifts per week at Punch Line Comedy Club
Tuesday through Sunday availability
Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper techniques
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to handle fast-paced and loud working environment

Job Qualifications

3 years work experience interacting with people in a positive environment
Working knowledge of cocktail tray service, basic food service, responsible alcohol service, drink recipes and garnishes, point of sales systems
Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent
Tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms
Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety-minded manner
Preferred cash handling experience
Preferred experience recognizing valid IDs
Preferred experience in a live music environment

Job Duties

Anticipate and respond to guests' needs
Suggestively sell beverages and menu items
Take orders
Answer guest questions and make recommendations
Up-sell liquors
Communicate drink orders to bar through point of sales system
Deliver drinks maneuvering trays through large crowds
Maintain line of sight and atmosphere control by circulating during shift
Remove dirty glasses and dishes from tables including lifting/moving bus tubs up to 25 lbs
Keep tables clean and wiped
Clean spills and remove food, trash, or other obstacles from floor using proper lifting techniques
Maintain company safety and sanitation standards
Keep current on all standard operating procedures
Request identification from guests who appear under 30
Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance and company policies
Recognize when guests are intoxicated and refuse further service courteously
Bring intoxication issues to manager's attention
Receive payment and process cash, credit card, or travelers check transactions
Ensure comp and void checks processed according to policy
Assist other servers and staff as needed
Occasionally work special events scheduled throughout venue
