Job Requirements

- Knowledge of cocktail tray service, basic food service, and responsible alcohol service
- Ability to manage intoxicated guests safely
- Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms

- Familiarity with drink recipes and garnishes
- Experience using point of sales systems
- Minimum three years' experience interacting positively with people
- Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent
- Ability to deal with intoxicated guests positively and safely
- Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms
- Preferred cash handling experience
- Experience recognizing valid IDs
- Experience in a live music environment
Job Duties
- Anticipate and respond to guests' needs
- Suggestively sell beverages and menu items
- Take orders and answer guest questions
- Communicate drink orders to bar through Point of Sales system
- Deliver drinks maneuvering trays through large crowds
- Maintain line of sight and atmosphere control by circulating through work area
- Remove dirty glasses and dishes from tables including lifting/moving bus tubs up to 25lbs
- Keep tables clean and wiped
- Clean spills and remove food, trash or obstacles from floor using proper lifting techniques
- Maintain House of Blues safety and sanitation standards
- Follow housekeeping standards per HOB policy
- Keep current on all standard operating procedures
- Request identification from guests who appear to be under 30 years of age
- Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance and HOB alcohol policies
- Recognize and refuse service to intoxicated guests in a polite, safety-focused manner and notify manager
- Process payments including cash, credit cards, and Traveler's checks according to HOB policy
- Ensure comp and void checks are processed according to HOB policy
- Assist other servers and staff as needed
