Job Requirements
- Ability to work late hours
- Flexible schedule
- Minimum one year of high-volume cocktail experience
- Working knowledge of cocktail tray service and basic food service
- Responsible Alcohol Training Certification or ability to pass training
- Three years’ work experience interacting with people positively
- Experience recognizing valid IDs
- Experience in a live music environment
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper techniques
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year of high-volume cocktail server experience
- Experience in a live music environment
- Working knowledge of cocktail tray service, food service, drink recipes, garnishes, and point of sales systems
- Responsible Alcohol Training Certification or ability to pass training
- Skills in interpersonal communication and teamwork
- Experience recognizing valid identification
- Ability to work late hours and a flexible schedule
- Tolerance of diverse cultures, music, and art forms
- Three years' experience interacting positively with people
Job Duties
- Anticipate and respond to guests' needs
- Suggestively sell beverages and menu items
- Take orders and answer guest questions
- Make recommendations and up-sell liquors
- Communicate drink orders to bar through Point of Sales system
- Deliver drinks maneuvering trays through large crowds
- Maintain line of sight and atmosphere control by circulating through work area
- Remove dirty glasses and dishes including lifting bus tubs up to 25 lbs
- Keep tables clean and wiped
- Clean spills and remove food or trash using proper lifting techniques
- Maintain House of Blues safety and sanitation standards
- Follow housekeeping standards per policy
- Keep current on all standard operating procedures
- Request identification from guests appearing under 30 years
- Ensure responsible alcohol service per training and policies
- Recognize when guests are intoxicated and refuse further service
- Process payments including cash, credit, and traveler’s checks
- Ensure comp and void checks are processed properly
- Assist other servers and staff as needed
- Occasionally work special events scheduled throughout the venue
