Job Requirements
- Must be at least the legal age to serve alcohol in the state
- minimum 1 year serving experience in a fast-paced environment
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- able to stand and move throughout the facility during shift
- able to bend, stoop, and kneel as needed
- ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team
- possession of alcohol awareness certification or valid food handling permit if required
- able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- At least 1 year of serving experience in a fast-paced food and beverage venue
- preferably nightclub environment
- knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments
- must meet state legal age requirements
- must speak fluent English
- other languages preferred
- courteous, pleasant, and good-natured
- strong communication skills for interaction with guests, bartenders, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors
- alcohol awareness certification and/or valid food service permit or health/food handler card as required by local or state government
- ability to read and write effectively
- basic math skills for handling cash and credit
- availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner
- serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests
- up-sell when taking orders
- maintain professionalism while being energetic and outgoing
- provide outstanding and professional service with a smile
- communicate effectively and clearly with co-workers and kitchen staff verbally and via point of sales system
- communicate with guests clearly, patiently and with good humor
- be well-versed in all concept products and menu items to guide guest experience and sell food and beverage items
- consistently check guests' identification for legal alcohol consumption requirements
- monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when to cease service
- notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption
- complete all assigned side work
- accurately account for all sales and payments from guests
- alert management of any service and/or safety issues
- make service recovery gestures to ensure guest satisfaction
- promote teamwork and quality service through coordination with other departments
- coordinate with bartenders and kitchen for ordering and receipt of food and beverages
