Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years full-service restaurant experience or equivalent
  • Knowledge of menu items and specials
  • Understanding of wine and liquor lists and special drinks
  • Familiarity with accounting procedures
  • Knowledge of restaurant layout including table and station numbers
  • Completion of individual restaurant orientation including rules and philosophies
  • Ability to meet personal schedule requirements punctually
  • Must be courteous, pleasant, and good natured
  • Ability to handle difficult guests with patience and courtesy
  • Openness to constructive criticism
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with co-workers
  • Maintain clean, well-manicured appearance consistent with restaurant standards
  • Capacity to stand and walk for entire shifts
  • Safe transportation of food from kitchen to guest tables over slick and uneven surfaces
  • Ability to transport food and beverage items continuously throughout shift
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Take orders and serve food and beverages to guests in restaurant and cocktail area
  • Effectively service a 6 table station
  • Accurately account for and balance all sales and receipts
  • Communicate clearly with kitchen verbally and using computer register system
  • Present and encourage current promotional information and materials to guest
  • Accurately record and account for all items ordered and served
  • Accurately accept payment from guest
  • Notify guest of any automatic gratuity
  • Perform calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Communicate with guest clearly, patiently, courteously and with good humor
  • Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of service according to standing operating procedure
