Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED degree, or related training equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in similar scope and title
- Experience within luxury brand or markets
- Preferred student or graduate of hotel management
- Ability to work in a shared, noisy environment
- Ability to cope with changing priorities and deadlines
- Flexibility to work varied schedules exceeding or below 40 hours weekly
- Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours daily
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs
- Ability to travel by foot or various transport means involving sitting, standing, and waiting
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED degree, or related training equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in a similar role
- Experience within luxury brands or markets
- Preferred: enrollment or graduation from hotel management studies
- Knowledge of wine, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Knowledge of guest service etiquette and proper food and beverage serving techniques
- Ability to perform cocktail server tasks and proficient use of job-related software and property management systems
- Ability to remain calm, use sound judgment, and solve problems
- Ability to multitask and maintain service quality across multiple tables
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals
- Ability to demonstrate cash handling procedures and calculate financial figures
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Greet and interact with internal and external guests in a warm and friendly manner using professional nomenclature
- Operate the telephone system and answer calls promptly using correct salutation and etiquette
- Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality of personal information and key control
- Maintain integrity of company proprietary information and protect company assets
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, beer, liquor, and wine
- Present menu, answer questions, and make food and beverage suggestions
- Explain, pair, and recommend wine from the wine list
- Serve food and beverage in a genuine, friendly, professional, and efficient manner
- Clear and reset counters or tables after each course
- Assist dining room servers by setting tables, serving guests, keeping menus clean, and maintaining knowledge
- Assist with providing tables with beverages
- Remove and replace solid linens
- Transport dirty dishes to dishwashing station
- Polish silver and glass as needed
- Seat guests in the dining room
- Relay orders to kitchen through POS and help serve courses
- Total bills and accept payments
- Utilize property management systems and follow cash handling procedures
- Set up bar and dining room thoroughly and swiftly
- Assist bartenders as needed
- Stock and polish glassware
- Complete opening, closing, and daily side-work procedures
- Maintain neat and organized work area adhering to sanitation standards
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- Maintain neat, clean, and professional appearance
- Follow safety and security policies and report hazards
- Welcome and accommodate guests with disabilities
- Develop positive working relationships and support team goals
- Attend required training and meetings
- Perform all other duties as assigned
