Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent or experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages according to local state laws
  • Flexible availability including long hours
  • Ability to stand for entire shift

  • Skilled at listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions

  • Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings
  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including uniform and nametag

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees
  • Complete opening and closing checklist according to standards
  • Welcome guests, take drink orders, relay order to bartender, deliver order, and receive payment
  • Know the proper garnishes for each drink
  • Process credit card and room charges
  • Clear and clean tables and return glasses for washing
  • Keep lounge area clean and free from debris at all times
  • Follow all cash handling policies and prepare closing reports
  • Perform all side work duties according to schedule
  • Have full knowledge of state liquor laws
  • Be familiar with the computer system
  • Assist bartender with preparing drinks when needed
  • Help with hors d'oeuvres tables during cocktail hour, including setup and breakdown
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
