Job Requirements

  • Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to efficiently and safely stand and move about the entire facility during shifts
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift
  • Must meet state legal age requirements
  • Must speak fluent English
  • Strong communication skills
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or valid health/food handler card as required by government agency
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be courteous and pleasant
  • Prior serving experience in fast paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of serving experience in a fast paced food and beverage venue, preferably nightclub environment
  • Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments preferred
  • Must meet state legal age requirements
  • Must speak fluent English, other languages preferred
  • Must be courteous, pleasant, and good natured
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with guests, bartenders, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
  • Reading and writing abilities used when taking orders and completing paperwork
  • Basic math skills frequently used for handling cash and credit
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner
  • Serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests
  • Up-sell when taking orders
  • Show energetic, outgoing, fun personality while maintaining professionalism
  • Provide outstanding and professional service with a smile
  • Communicate effectively and clearly with co-workers and kitchen staff both verbally and via point of sales system
  • Communicate with guests patiently and with good humor
  • Be well-versed in all products and menu items to guide guest experience and promote sales
  • Consistently check guests' identification to ensure legal drinking age
  • Monitor guest behavior to determine when to cease alcohol service and notify management of incidents
  • Complete all assigned side work
  • Accurately account for all sales and payments from guests
  • Alert management of any service or safety issues
  • Make service recovery gestures to ensure total guest satisfaction
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily coordination with other departments
  • Coordinate with bartenders and kitchen for ordering and receipt of food and beverages
