Job Requirements

  • Must meet state legal age requirements
  • at least 1 year of serving experience in a fast-paced food and beverage venue
  • ability to handle, carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • ability to efficiently and safely stand and move about the entire facility during each shift
  • ability to bend, stoop, kneel and lift
  • must be able to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • alcohol awareness certification and/or valid food service permit or health/food handler card
  • availability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of serving in a fast paced food and beverage venue, preferably nightclub environment
  • knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments
  • must meet state legal age requirements
  • must speak fluent English, other languages preferred
  • must be courteous, pleasant, and good natured
  • strong communication skills for interaction with guests, bartender, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors
  • alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state agency
  • reading and writing abilities for taking orders and completing paperwork
  • basic math skills for handling cash and credit transactions
  • availability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner
  • serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests
  • up-sell when taking orders
  • show energetic, outgoing, fun personality while maintaining professionalism
  • provide outstanding and professional service with a smile to ensure guest satisfaction
  • communicate effectively and clearly with co-workers and kitchen staff verbally and via point of sales system
  • communicate with guests clearly, patiently, and with good humor
  • be well-versed in all concept products and menu items to guide guest experience and sell food and beverage items
  • consistently check guests' identification to ensure minimum age requirements
  • monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption and notify management of excessive consumption or impaired guests
  • complete all assigned side work
  • accurately account for all sales and payments
  • alert management of service and safety issues
  • make appropriate service recovery gestures to ensure total guest satisfaction
  • promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination with other departments
  • coordinate with bartenders and kitchen for ordering and receipt of food and beverages
