Job Requirements
- High school diploma preferred but not absolutely required
- minimum of one year experience in department operations or management training
- food safety handling certificate
- sufficient math skills
- ability to hear, speak, and understand spoken word
- ability to read, write, analyze, interpret English
- knowledge of department procedures
- ability to pass drug test and qualify as drug-free
- ability to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds
- ability to work in environments with low temperatures and near heated ovens
- physical ability to perform job duties
Job Qualifications

- minimum of one year experience in department operations or concurrent participation in management training program or equivalent experience
- food safety handling certificate
- sufficient math skills to understand measurements and prices
- ability to hear, speak, and understand spoken word for effective communication
- proficiency in reading, writing, analyzing, and interpreting English language documents
- knowledge of departmental procedures, policies, and operations
- ability to pass a standard drug test and qualify as drug-free under Drug Free Workplace Act
Job Duties
- Responsible for the production of food products according to Northgate Markets recipes
- follow recipes and production norms established by Northgate Markets
- program daily production using production lists and planning
- accurately rotate products and label with dates following FIFO rules
- maintain inventory control of products on display and in refrigerators
- offer rapid and friendly service to customers and assist customer service line when necessary
- review product quality before offering to customers
- suggest purchases and notify customers of sales
- work effectively as part of a team and communicate with coworkers and leads
- receive products from vendors or warehouse in absence of lead
- minimize waste and use loss tracking tool to report waste
- maintain clean and organized refrigerators following sanitation and 5S rules
- ensure all equipment is properly working and report issues
- maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment
- follow food safety guidelines and assure product temperatures are recorded
- meet safe handling practices when placing products to sell
- maintain quality assurance of outsourced products
- perform other work-related duties as assigned
