Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food service or cashier role preferred
- Considerable knowledge of child nutrition laws, policies, and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Apps
- Effective time management
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
- Food production skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with staff, students, and community
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to forty pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food service and/or as a cashier preferred
- Knowledge of child nutrition laws, policies, and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Apps
- Effective time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service abilities
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to read and interpret detailed instructions, schedules, and recipes
- Demonstrated food production skills
- Ability to work independently and establish effective working relationships
Job Duties
- Prepare, cook and serve meals, salads, and a la-carte items according to standardized recipes
- Serve as a cashier and manage cafeteria sales using a computerized point of sale system
- Follow procedures for exchange and collection of monies and assist in preparing deposits
- Provide leadership and manage the cafeteria in the absence of the CNS Manager
- Complete all required records, reports, inventories, and vending procedures
- Ensure kitchen area, equipment, and utensils are kept clean according to sanitation codes
- Perform housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning dining areas and restrooms
- Comply with policies and procedures in the Wake County Public Schools Child Nutrition Handbook
- Provide effective communication and customer service to students, parents, and school staff
- Perform other related duties as assigned
