Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food service and/or cashiering preferred
- Ability to use computers, scanners, copiers, and food preparation equipment
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to forty pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and schedules
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to manage money transactions and accurate record keeping
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Considerable knowledge of child nutrition laws, policies, and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Google Apps
- Effective time management skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to read, interpret, and administer recipes and instructions
- Demonstrated food production skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate clearly in various communication methods
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school staff, students, parents, and community
- Experience in food service and/or cashiering is preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare, cook and serve meals, salads, and a la-carte items according to standardized recipes
- Keep accurate documentation of food preparation
- Serve as a cashier to collect money and record sales using a computerized point of sale system
- Follow procedures for exchange, collection of monies and assist in preparation of deposits
- Provide leadership and manage the cafeteria in the absence of the CNS Manager
- Complete all required records, reports, inventories, and vending procedures
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen area, equipment, and utensils according to sanitation codes
- Perform various housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning dining areas
- Comply with Wake County Public Schools Child Nutrition Handbook policies and procedures
- Provide effective communication and customer service
