Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred in home economics, food science or related field
- Completion of School Nutrition Certification or qualifications to earn designation
- Minimum of five years experience in Child Nutrition or quantity food service
- At least one year experience working within a school district
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to analyze personnel and financial data
- Supervisory experience
- Must consent to background check and fingerprinting
- Ability to pay required fee
- Willingness to comply with finite contract terms and pro-rated salary conditions
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree desired with a major in home economics, food science, or related field with emphasis in institutional administration, dietetics, foods or nutrition
- School Nutrition Certification or equivalent qualifications
- Minimum five years' experience in Child Nutrition or quantity food service including menu planning, large scale cooking, and meal preparation
- At least one year experience in a school district
- Moderate to high level computer skills
- Ability to draft formal letters, disciplinary memorandums, and comprehensive reports
- Ability to review and analyze personnel, financial and other data
- Ability to supervise employees, resolve personnel conflicts and provide training
- Alternatives to the above qualifications may be acceptable
Job Duties
- Provide assistance, instruction, and guidance for Child Nutrition Program in assigned school
- Secure advice of and report to Child Nutrition Program Director on all major problems, plans, programs and progress
- Assist in establishment and interpretation of aims and objectives for the program to students, staff, parents and community
- Provide training and related instruction for the Child Nutrition Program in assigned schools including quality food service, work simplification, dietary guidelines, HACCP, sanitation, and safety
- Coach Child Nutrition Program Managers and employees in program operation ensuring compliance with District, State and Federal regulations
- Prepare reports for each assigned school and submit in a timely manner
- Assist in administering accurate accounting procedures and records for proper control and management of money, labor, food, supplies and other costs
- Supervise and assist with evaluation of Child Nutrition Program Managers serving as a liaison between administrative staff and Principals
- Visit all cafeterias to ensure high standards of health, sanitation and safety
- Perform on site inspections and evaluations
