Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- minimum two years janitorial experience
- ability to work overnight shifts from 9 pm to 5 am
- availability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays
- willingness to comply with dress code requirements
- physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
- ability to use cleaning chemicals safely and operate custodial equipment
- good attendance and punctuality
- maturity of judgment and behavior
- basic phone and computer skills
- ability to maintain professional relationships with coworkers and supervisors
- flexibility to work a varying schedule
- adherence to company safety and risk management policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- two years of janitorial experience
- knowledge of proper and safe use of custodial equipment
- ability to learn and use established cleaning techniques
- ability to maintain professionalism and ethics
- positive attitude and good communication skills
- proficiency in basic phone and computer skills
- good attention to detail
- ability to work under pressure
- adequate oral and written communication skills
- ability to work independently and in a team
- knowledge of OSHA and local safety requirements
Job Duties
- Cleans offices, patients/residents' rooms, dorms, classrooms, schools, common areas, lavatories, halls, food service areas, and any other areas that may require attention
- sweeps, mops, scrubs, polishes floors, and vacuums hallways, stairs, and office space
- performs hard-surface floor scrubbing, stripping, and refinishing, as well as carpet spotting and extraction using mechanical equipment
- participates in maintenance of wood floors including cleaning, screening, stripping, sanding, and refinishing
- cleans light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows, and window coverings
- uses cleaning chemicals safely according to manufacturer and Sodexo standards
- empties trash and garbage containers
- replenishes supplies and materials
- changes sheets and replenishes linens as needed
- performs routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs
- drives golf cart or other vehicles as required
- moves furniture and sets up tables and chairs
- notifies supervisor of maintenance repairs or additions needed
- complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
- reports accidents and injuries promptly
- participates in safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments
- applies OSHA and local safety requirements to all assigned work
- attends training programs
- may participate in snow and ice management duties including operating snow removal equipment
- performs other duties as assigned
